NorthWall Commits £93m Senior Debt Facilities to UK Copper Component Manufacturer MSS International
The refinancing supports a portfolio company of Stellex Capital
London, UK; 27th August 2025: NorthWall Capital (“NorthWall”), a leading European alternative credit specialist delivering private capital solutions to Western European counterparties, today announced that it has committed over £93m of first lien senior debt to MSS International (“MSS”), a leading UK electrical copper component manufacturer. The transaction supports the full refinancing of existing debt facilities and supports the company for its next phase of growth. MSS is a portfolio company of Stellex Capital Management (“Stellex”), a US-based private equity firm.
Founded in 1971, MSS is a leading UK manufacturer of electrical components and integrated electrical assemblies for blue-chip customers across the energy transmission and distribution market. The company was acquired by Stellex in 2023, and has since experienced rapid growth, driven by its strong positioning in sectors benefitting from structural tailwinds such as global electrification and the replacement of ageing power grids. It has also capitalized on high-growth end markets within EV batteries and data centers. NorthWall’s ability to provide bespoke credit solutions positioned the firm as the obvious partner for Stellex in this transaction.
NorthWall has a strong track record of supporting high-quality sponsors in mid-market refinancing transactions. This deal builds on a longstanding relationship with Stellex, having partnered on opportunities in the past, and highlights NorthWall’s ability to deliver a reliable, efficient process with the speed and certainty of execution that sponsors value.
This transaction was funded through NorthWall’s Credit Opportunities and Senior Lending strategies.
Adelbert Garcia, Managing Director, Investment Team at NorthWall Capital said, “With a solid financial profile and rapid growth in the energy transmission sector, MSS represents a great credit with strong tailwinds to support continued growth. Under a strong management team and the backing of a high quality sponsor in Stellex Capital, the company is well positioned to continue building out its global presence. We are excited to partner with the MSS team and Stellex Capital on another important transaction in their European portfolio.”
Fabian Chrobog, Chief Investment Officer at NorthWall Capital, added, “In today’s challenging credit markets shaped by higher rates, slowing growth, and geopolitical uncertainty, borrowers and sponsors increasingly value speed, certainty of execution, and partnership. Our ability to deliver tailored financing solutions with efficiency enables us to support counterparties through complex refinancing situations, while maintaining the rigorous structuring and downside protection that underpin compelling risk-adjusted returns for our investors.”
MSS International’s CFO, Steve Townsley, commented, “NorthWall’s collaborative approach and deep commercial understanding of our business have been invaluable throughout this process. They took the time to understand our growth aspirations, and demonstrated flexibility in structuring a solution tailored to our needs. This partnership positions us strongly for our next phase of expansion, and we look forward to building on the relationship in the years ahead.”
