Garrett Holmes
Head of Legal, Investment Team, Legal Assets
Garrett joined NorthWall in February 2019. He is Head of Legal, and Managing Director in our Investment team.
Garrett initially joined as a secondee from Sidley Austin, where he advised private equity clients across the industry spectrum. He became a permanent member of the NorthWall team in London in February 2020, to lead the legal assets strategy and perform general counsel duties. In July 2021, Garrett moved back to his hometown of Boston, US, continuing to work for NorthWall.
While in private practice, Garrett gained a wealth of experience advising clients on a broad range of transactions, including leveraged buyouts, mergers, joint ventures, divestitures, structured equity investments and management equity plans, representing firms such as TowerBrook Capital Partners, Metric Capital Partners and KKR. Garrett moved to Sidley in 2016 as part of the private equity team from Kirkland & Ellis where he had been an Associate since 2013.
Garrett has a J.D., cum laude from Harvard Law School and is admitted to the State Bar of New York and Massachusetts. He also has a B.A. in Linguistics (Dartmouth College) and an M.A. in Philosophy (University College London).
